One of the major trends affecting the environmental service industries at present is the way in which large organisations are looking to outsource services as far as possible.  This creates opportunities for large, multi-sector consultancies who can sign up to deliver a broad range of services.  However, whilst these companies may have a number of highly experienced experts in most of the fields required, they may find it difficult to resource peak work loads in specialist areas.  There is a clear need within the industry for companies that can supply high quality, skilled and experienced staff both for long term secondments and to support peak workloads.

ESI is the UK’s leading specialist soil and groundwater consultancy employing a large team of hydrogeologists, modellers and risk assessors.  With over 35 staff qualified at MSc or PhD level with around 10 years experience on average, we have a large pool of skilled and experienced staff available to meet both peak loads and long term demands.

Since its inception in 1996, ESI has operated under a number of long term contracts to provide technical services to the Environment Agency and clients in the water, waste and contaminated land industries.  In this working relationship we continually strive to establish a position in which we can work alongside counterpart staff within the client organisation to ensure that the value of our technical contribution is effectively transferred to the client’s staff at the end of the project.  This is shown through our willingness to work as part of a team as well as providing the traditional consultancy role on other projects.
