Ground Source Energy Case Studies

A Ground Source Energy scheme implemented based on ESI's technical capabailities will be successful and delivered in the most cost effective manner.

The following case studies highlight the technical experience and capabilities at ESI

Feasibility Study for Ground Source Energy System at Parklands, Bristol

WCR Investments Limited appointed ESI Ltd to undertake an options appraisal for the installation of a carbon efficient and cost effective heating/cooling system for new commercial office spaces that were developed at the Parklands Site, Bristol.

Hydrogeological and Environmental Impact Assessment of a Geothermal Closed Loop Ground Source Energy Installation

ESI in Milan was approached to give support for designing one of the largest closed loop systems for heating and cooling in Europe.  The system was installed at the IKEA store in Corsico, Milan, with the need to provide some 1.4 MWth and covering thermal energy demand in the range from 40 to 100%.

Modelling of Groundwater Flow and Heat Transport

ESI was commissioned to test the feasibility of one of the possible solutions identified to prevent temperatures on the deepest parts of the London Underground network rising to unacceptable levels.

Feasibility study of ground source energy systems

Feasibility study for renewable energy options demonstrated that ground source energy should be used for cost-effective space heating in a historic building.

Modelling of an open loop ground source energy design

An open loop ground source heating/cooling scheme is being developed for the redevelopment of the Tate Modern, located close to the River Thames.  ESI Ltd was instructeded by Max Fordham to construct a FEFLOW groundwater flow model to support the design.
