There are at least four broad applications for the RISC software.

RISC can be used to:

1. Estimate human health risk from exposure to contaminated media,
2. Estimate risk-based clean-up levels in various media,
3. Perform simple fate and transport modeling, and
4. Evaluate potential ecological impacts to surface water and sediment.
