Groundwater Monitoring: Strategy and Implementation

As the environmental services sector has evolved and matured, it has become increasingly clear that the degree of accuracy to which questions need to be answered is often limited by the quality of the data available.  ESI has all the skills and experience needed for the task of improving the quality and quantity of data being collected.

Having developed a network, it is essential to have a clear data management strategy which takes an overview of the flow of data from the field, to labs, to those reviewing the data and on to those who will ultimately use it.  Knowledge of data management QA and IT systems is essential here in order to optimise what can in the long term be one of the most costly aspects of monitoring.  Finally the data need to be reviewed and reported.  It is our experience that well designed networks with good monitoring QA systems can still fail to deliver the desired outcome due to the lack of regular review of the data by experienced staff.  Spotting problems early prevents large costs in wasted monitoring and analysis.

ESI has a strong track record of working with clients to develop appropriate, cost effective and efficient monitoring and data management strategies/systems.
